2015 Annual Community Garage Sale

Announcing our upcoming Arbor Ridge Annual Community Garage Sale.  Large signage will be placed at the main entrances and it will be advertised on Craig’s List.  Saturday, June 13, 2015 @ Time: 9 am – 2 pm

**Please note:  if you would like you may have your home garage sale continue past 2 pm, and on Sunday, June 14th.**

Here are some tips to have a successful garage sale:

1.  Collect the clutter around your home.

2.  Have a plan. A successful garage sale does not happen without organization. At least a week before the sale go through your home from top to bottom and clear out clutter. At least 2-3 days before the sale, take an afternoon to price everything and organize it. The day before getting the cash on hand to manage your cash drawer (for example:  a roll of pennies, roll of nickels, roll of dimes, roll of quarters, 20 dollars in dollar bills and 20 dollars in fives).

Do not wait until the last minute to pull off a garage sale 🙂

3.  Clearly mark your prices.

4.  Price things to sell.

5.  Mark things down as the time goes and closing time approaches.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and thank you for your support. The more homes that participate the more this creates a successful day and atmosphere for everyone.

The Future Governance of the Greater Bethany Area

Arbor Ridge Home Owners – Below is information provided to the HOA in regards to the future of the Bethany Area.  Currently we live in unincorporated Washington County and are no part of Hillsboro, Beaverton or Portland.  Please read about the what the Citizen Steering Committee (CPO7) has to discuss at a future meeting outlined below,  Keep in mind this is not an endorsement, we are providing the information to you as a Home Owner to help you with how you want to shape the Bethany Area.  If you have any questions please visit their website.

Dear Neighbors,
CPO #7 (your official citizen group at the county level) is sponsoring a series of community get-togethers in 2015 to begin exploring the pros and cons of Bethany becoming a part of a City. Changing our current status from being residents of Unincorporated Washington County to residents of a City raises all sorts of questions and concerns–which these meetings hope to address. This is the first time ever, such a series has been held here – so there is much to learn and it’s critical we participate and voice our needs and be open to discover the possibilities.
The series is broken down into themes. The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22nd at 7:00 PM and will be held at the Community Room of the new Fire Station located at 13545 NW Evergreen Street, Portland 97229 (near the intersection of Thompson & Saltzman Roads). Attached is a flyer with specific details.

Please forward this invite to all of your friends and plan to attend this meeting to help shape the future of our community. It’s an exciting time – looking forward to seeing you all soon!

All the best!

National Night Out Back On

The sheriff’s office came through at the last minute and Arbor Ridge and The Charlias Women’s Network will be able to put on the event.

August 5th starting at 6pm in John Marty Park.

Sorry for any confusion but we hope to see you there.

National Night Out Canceled

Arbor Ridge and the Charlais Womens Network have been working over the last couple of weeks coordinating with Washington County Sheriffs’ department for the National Night Out to take place on this Tuesday, August 5th.

We are sorry to say that this years event needs to be cancelled due to resources still pending to be allocated to the Bethany area.  They are still having the event at other location, but just not in our area this year. We haven’t received a call back to confirm.  So we think it is best to cancel and try to re-coordinate next year etc.

July 4th Parade and Party in the Park

Another fun and successful event was held this year with the Charlais Women’s Network (CWN).  Arbor Ridge HOA once again joined with CWN to be part of an annual tradition with our neighbors.  Arbor Ridge HOA provided volunteers and funding for the hot dog stand for the event. We served over 700 hot dogs.
